Four common presenting and public speaking challenges

COMMON PRESENTING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING CHALLENGES

It would have been great if there was simply one problem with public speaking and presenting, right?  Then a simple ‘one size fits all’ solution would work and before you know it, everyone would be confident master presenters, loving every minute of it. It is, however, not that simple, because of these four common presenting and public speaking challenges that we face when we present.

WHY IT’S A PROBLEM

When left untended and ignored in the futile hope that it will somehow all ‘work out’, these challenges typically lead to disaster.  Let’s face it, mono-syllabic and/or petrified (and white knuckled) presenters, boring or incoherent presentations and semi-comatose audiences that retain very little information isn’t fun for anyone;  the audience forgets about you and your message within a few minutes, or even worse, remember it (and you) for all the wrong reasons! A waste of time and energy if there ever was, don’t you think? Here are the four most common challenges (and sometimes, nighmares) that prevent most people not only from being good at the art of presenting, but also from loving it.
  • #1:  Your energy
  • #2:  Structuring a presentation
  • #3:  Preparing it
  • #4:  Delivering it

CHALLENGE #1: YOUR ENERGY

CHALLENGE #2: STRUCTURING A PRESENTATION

CHALLENGE #3: PREPARING FOR A PRESENTATION
